Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma

Botox is frequently used in the treatment of injuries affecting the bones in the maxilla, mandible, zygoma, nasal bone and orbital bone, including the jaw-facial region. Botox injection into the masseter muscles in the treatment of zygomatic (cheekbone) fractures causes less mini-plate/microplate to be used. Thus, it acts as a splint for the fusion of broken bones during my recovery period.
Botox injection to the anterior side of the digastric muscle is successfully used to correct post-traumatic anterior open bite.
